Happy Monday! I hope every one's weekend was GREAT!

This week: letters J, j and K, k! Yes, 2 letters! We will try and get 2 letters a week in from now until we finish the alphabet! PLEASE practice at home, especially if your child is struggling with something. Don't forget the blends! We are doing morning sentences each and every morning. They should be able to read these sentences to you each Friday. Please don't let them try and "remember" what the sentence said. If you have to, re-write the words on a separate piece of paper and scramble them up. Have them sound out the ones they need to. For the short sight words, they should be able to recognize those easily. (the color words also.) a, the, is, I, and

Our unit this week is all about BEARS!! Please send any books or movies you have! Please check your child's bag for a letter about some other fun activities we are doing this week!

Happy 100th day of school!!!

This week: we are learning the letter F, f as in fox! Please review each and every paper in your child's Friday folder! The notes I write are for YOU! :) Please go over them and even have them correct the mistakes! PLEASE have your child read the morning sentences to you that they are writing each morning! They should be able to recognize the sight words and sound out the others!

We are continuing HARD with our numbers! Most are doing a GREAT job in recognizing the "teen" numbers! Count, Count, Count at home! We are counting everyday and many are already in the 100 point club!!!

Happy Monday everyone! If you are enjoying a day off, I hope your day has been great! If not, I also hope your day has been GREAT! :)

This week: we are learning the letter R, r..as in ring. We are learning to write it, recognize it, and blend it! ra, re, ri, ro, ru. Please continue to practice at home! We are really picking up the pace here at school and I can tell which ones are getting the practice they need at home! Thanks!

We are continuing with our counting also! We are learning to recognize and write numbers 10-20 and we are counting way past that! Most are doing a really good job at this! Keep it up!

For unit work this week, we are learning about polar animals! Please feel free to share any books or DvDs you have!

Great job with the G, g bags last week! I am sending home the R, r bag this week! I hope the kids told you all about it! Send only one item and it must fit into the bag fully! Thanks for this, we've had fun so far!

Welcome back!! I hope every one's Christmas was as special and great as ours was! I really missed these smiling faces! And I am SO proud that they all came in with a huge smile this morning! It's made our day just perfect so far!

There was some Christmas art left here in December. I will send it home in the folders today. Just send the folders back tomorrow. Also, we are celebrating Cody's birthday today with cupcakes a pizza! yay! So a few of the kids wanted to eat pizza instead of their lunch they ordered. I saved this money. Let me know if you want to move it to another day or if you want me to send it home Friday. Happy Birthday Cody!!

We are working hard on reviewing our letters this week! Numbers too! We are gearing up towards getting ready for kindergarten! There will not be much play dough playing or coloring in the mornings anymore! It will be reinforcement sheets and morning sentences! Remember, ALL morning work has to be completed in order for them to play in centers. That's why it's so important for them to get to school on time, unpack in a timely manner, get to the restroom, and get to work! They go to PE at 8:15. But they will always be given plenty of time to do their work! We will also begin our 100 point club, writing our last names, and finishing up learning our letters. We have "little books" we will begin to read once we finish with our letters.

As we talked about at the Christmas party, many new pencils and supplies were sent this morning! THANK YOU! If you did not send the skinny pencils for your child, please do so this week. Clare brought some extras and your child is using one of those. Thanks Clare! Also, if your child needs more crayons..(I know, I don't know how they go through them so fast...they become short little nubs in a matter of weeks,) please send those too. (the small crayola pack is OK-the 16 pack will be fine.) I think most are OK on glue. Just ask them.

Please ask about monkeys coming down in the next coming weeks. It's always an adjustment for them coming back from a long break. Sometimes rules are forgotten! I am really really talking up "big kid" behavior and kindergarten, so help me out. Please continue to practice sounds, letters, blends, and numbers at home! Thanks for all of your help!

Good morning!

We have another busy week ahead! This week we are learning the letter D, d. This can be a tricky letter! Please practice with your child! Don't let them get into the habit of writing it backwards and making a b! They learned a couple of tricks on how to remember which way to face it! Ask them about this!! Don't forget to practice the blends! da, de, di, do, du!
Also, we are learning the #8! This can also be a tricky one! Practice!!!Your child should be counting pretty high by now...at least to 50! After Christmas, we begin joining the 100 point club! Those who can count to 100 get to join! I hope everyone practices over the break and does a great job when we get back!! We are practicing here at school!!

Don't forget to send 10 dollars for your child's ornament! They are SOOO cute! I am sending them home today if you bought one! Please check for it! I don't want them broken!

You do not need to send any money for the movies next Thursday! This is Sarah Taylor's treat! Thanks Sarah!!!

Christmas party at school-Friday @9. We have a special treat for you! We can't wait!!

We get out at 11:45 on Thursday of next week and the kids can leave after the Christmas party on Friday! We have had SO much fun this week and will have SO SO Much next week! Ask your child about their day EVERY day! They make this time of year SO special for me and I am sure for you too! :)

We have a VERY busy 3 weeks ahead! Tune into the blog and email very often for updates! We will be busy busy but will be having SO much fun! :)

December 1st @ 11-4 and 2nd @ 8-12: Patriot Marketplace (which will
replace the PTO dollar store gift shop….PTO will have a booth at the holiday
market.

The Art Department will sell the ornaments that students are making and
outside vendors will be here to sell merchandise. The gift basket auction will
also be available. Students may preview or shop on Dec. 1st and shop again
on Dec. 2nd.

December 14th: Polar Express Day for K4-4th grades (PTO wants to
help with this event this year, so more information will come as it gets
closer!)
